I used Flagyl (anti biotics) and had sex with my hub during that 10 day course? Now i am reading that the birth controll pill enterveres with vlagyl... I feel a bit nausias and dizzy lately.... Is it possible to get preggo during that time?? i didnt miss a Birth-pill.

Several medications interfere with the ability of oral contraceptives to do their job, so a second method of birth control (preferably condoms) should be used. Yes, it's possible to have been impregnated during that period, even if you took the birth control pills as directed."

Penny P replied: "yes that could be, because it interferes with the birth control pill and makes it less affective. If you are taking the flagyl still, that can also make you nauseous and dizzy...that is one of the side affects of that drug."

Kim S replied: "All antibiotics will effect your birth control.. you should ALWAYS use a back up when taking any antibiotics and using birth control... I suggest taking a pregnancy test asap... Best of luck to you!"

Is it ok to use flagyl metrogel with your period even when having blood clots? I need to use it 3 more days, but started my period and i know that it says its ok but i am passing clots, is it still going to be ok? i don't want to accidentally push a clot back up me that is trying to come out

20 weeks pregnant, used flagyl [WORRIEDD :( ]? i am 20 weeks pregnant & finished 7days of flagyl for chlamydia about a week & some days ago & today i noticed i had a furry like tongue... also when i eat candy or sour things my tongue starts to burn a little after a while, not exactly burning but like an irritated feeling & where it still feels a little irritated there is no furryness. helppp im worried this may be like oral yeast infection ?

Carandy1 replied: "I think an oral yeast infection is exactly what you have. Call your OB there is an oral medication that can be taken that will clear it up really quickly. Don't worry it really is an easy fix."

LORI replied: "That sounds like thrush/oral yeast infection to me. Don't be worried though- yeast infections are a very common side effect of antibiotics. The meds kill off all types of bacteria including the beneficial ones that keep yeast from overgrowing in your system. Your doc can probably give you a mouthwash for it, I think its called Nystatin, that is what I got when I was pregnant? But don't try to treat it with any meds on your own, most antifungal drugs are not safe for pregnant women to take. Also the natural bacteria thats used to make milk into yogurt are the same ones that keep you from getting yeast infections. So whether or not you get meds from your doc, you may want to try rinsing your mouth with some natural plain yogurt a few times a day. It sounds pretty odd but it really does help to get rid of thrush in my experience."
